The Bays ("we", "us") operates the venue and website at 7 Portman Terrace, Southbourne, Dorset, BH5 2HL. The data controller is Sobo Bays Limited, company number 17203917. Contact: info@thebays.co.uk.

• Booking details — name, email, phone, party size, slot, voucher code, pre-order items.
• Payment confirmation data from our payment processor (we never store full card numbers).
• Marketing opt-ins where you provide them (e.g. competition entries, gift voucher purchases).
• Basic technical data — IP address, device/browser type, cookies (see Cookies below).
• CCTV footage inside the venue for safety and licensing compliance.

• To fulfil your booking, take payment and contact you about your visit.
• To run age-verification and licensing obligations (18+ after 8pm).
• To send service emails (confirmations, changes, refunds).
• To send marketing — only with your consent — which you can withdraw at any time.
• To prevent fraud, comply with law, and keep guests and staff safe.

Contract (your booking), legitimate interests (running the venue securely), legal obligation (licensing, tax, food safety), and consent (marketing & non-essential cookies).

Service providers acting on our behalf: payment processor, email sender, booking/database platform, and analytics. We do not sell your personal data. A full subprocessor list is available on request.

Where a booking resulted in a payment, we keep the booking record for 6 years because tax law requires us to keep financial records for that long. Bookings that were cancelled or never paid for are deleted after 12 months. CCTV recordings are kept for 31 days. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data, and object to processing. Email info@thebays.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

We don't market to under-18s. Under-18s are welcome in venue until 8pm with an accompanying adult.
